15th June 2011

Planning early for the event, which will be held from 1 to 5 pm on Saturday 10 September, activities organiser Liz Longford says: “We would be grateful for donations of jumble, jewellery, books and bric-a-brac, and also for volunteers who will help to man stalls or can donate a skill which will help the day go well!”

Queensmead residential care home in Christchurch is calling for offers of bric-a-brac and volunteers who can help with its annual Summer Fair.

Money raised will go towards the residents’ amenities fund which provides for outings and entertainment for the residents of Queensmead during the year.

Planning early for the event, which will be held from 1 to 5 pm on Saturday 10th September, activities organiser Liz Longford says: “We would be grateful for donations of jumble, jewellery, books and bric-a-brac, and also for volunteers who will help to man stalls or can donate a skill which will help the day go well!”

The Summer Fair promises fun for all the family with attractions including a bouncy castle, childrens’ games, entertainers, cream teas and ice creams as well as many stalls.

Queensmead is one of 16 homes in Dorset operated by care charity Care South.

“We hope that the local community will come in and help make the day a success” says Liz Longford.

If you are able to donate items for sale, Queensmead at 1 Bronte Avenue, Christchurch, will be glad to receive them, but no electrical items please. If you would like to offer help for the day, please telephone either Liz Longford or the home manager Janine May on 01202 485176
