Last weekend, Care South’s Buxton House care home in Weymouth held its annual summer fete. The event was a great success raising over £360 for the home’s amenity fund.
Stalls on the day did a roaring trade in a range of items including, books, homemade cakes, refreshments, ice-creams and bric-a-brac. There was also tombola, a hog roast, a raffle as well as the opportunity to ‘bomb the boss’ – as care home manager Trisha Ashby Rudd gamely let attendees throw buckets of water and a sponge at her – all in the name of fun and fundraising!
Entertainment came from local singer Mike Reynolds, who went down a storm performing a variety of hits from war time classics to 50’s and 60’s pop.
Trisha Ashby Rudd commented: “We would like to thank everyone who helped organise and came along to what was a fantastic day at Buxton House. The money raised for the home’s amenity fund really will make a difference”
