Residents at Care South’s Sussexdown care home in Storrington celebrated St George’s Day with pride this year.
A week before the event, activity managers were busy making table decorations and getting the bunting prepared. On the day, the care home joined in the West Sussex village’s celebrations with gusto, flying the St George’s Cross and the Union Jack throughout the site. Head chef at Sussexdown, Dickie Dore and his team were also on hand to serve residents and staff with a spectacular celebratory buffet.
Heather Rogers, Sussexdown home manager, commented: “A really fantastic day was had by all, with everyone getting involved in the activities and having lots of fun.
“One of our residents even wrote a letter to the head chef and activity coordinators saying ‘this is what makes Sussexdown such a great place to be’. I would have to concur with their sentiments entirely.”
