Care South’s outstanding reputation for delivering quality care to people from all walks of life received a further welcome boost when Diana Abel, a home care assistant based at its Crewkerne office, received the award for Best mentor/buddy 2009 at the prestigious Somerset Care awards.
Diana, who has been a member of the Care South team for three years, received her award last month in front of an audience of more than 300 care professionals, gathered for a gala dinner organised by Care Focus. This is the latest in an impressively long list of such awards to have been scooped, in recent years, by members of Care South’s team.
Diana said ”Working in the community is a challenging but fulfilling job. I find it very rewarding caring for my clients who all have different needs, to make their lives easier and more enjoyable“.
The awards ceremony, held at The Wellsprings Centre of Taunton, is the highlight of the year for the Care providers in Somerset, with finalists for the 12 awards being selected from over 300 nominations from all aspects of health and social care organisations. Back to host for the third time was BBC?s Chris Vacher who presented the winners with a glass trophy and floral bouquet. All of the finalists were treated to a goody bag which included engraved paperweights as a keepsake.
