National accolade for Care South trainer
Karen Hodges, a trainer with Care South, was a selected as a finalist for The Ceretas National Home CareAwards.
Ceretas is the only membership organisation exclusively for individuals working in homecare. The winner will be announced at the prestigious Awards presentation, which takes place at the Marriott Hotel in London on Saturday 6 June.
Commenting on the outcome of the successful nomination Nicky Smith, Training Manager, said “I am delighted that we have received such a prestigious nomination as it reinforces my belief that at Care South we provide some of the very best training in social care. This, of course, can only be achieved when a Training Department has such a dedicated and professional team who recognise that the delivery of quality care demands quality training.“
Care South’s Director of Human Resources and Training, Moira Brown added “This is a great accolade for Karen and the Training team and one of which we are justifiably proud. It reinforces Care South’s commitment to staff training and development as well as maintaining and developing our domiciliary care services to the highest standards of modern care practice”.
Karen has worked in Care South’s Training and NVQ Assessment Centre since 2005 following a career in both domiciliary and residential care settings. Karen was nominated for the award because she acts as an exemplary role model for all newly appointed and existing members of staff; is highly committed to her own professional development; and supports the business through the delivery of quality training.
