Diamond Jubilee celebrations in our homes

Care South homes will be in party mood to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in early June. The following are just some of the glittering events to look forward to.


Monday 28 May

• Mount Pleasant, Weymouth is hosting a Jubilee Crowns and Tiaras party with musical entertainment by Darren and themed food for residents, relatives and staff.

Saturday 2 June

• Templeman House, Bournemouth, invites you to a lunchtime barbecue with themed foods. All welcome. Entry £2. Sussexdown, Storrington, is having a garden party with barbecue lunch and entertainment from 2.30pm

Sunday 3 June

• Elizabeth House, Poole, is holding a garden party with barbecue, and family fun and games, from 12 noon onwards, for residents and friends.

Monday 4 June

• Templeman House, Bournemouth, is having an alfresco lunch followed by a royally themed quiz. All welcome. Entry £2.

Tuesday 5 June

• Alexandra House, Poole, is holding an afternoon garden party with entertainment.

• Talbot View, Bournemouth, is having a street party for residents and relatives.

• Templeman House, Bournemouth, is hosting a red, white and blue themed garden party, featuring a balloon release and entertainment by  Dolly Brown. All welcome. Entry £1, and 50p for children.

• The Fearnes, Bournemouth, presents The Land Girls in cabaret at 10.45am and a garden party with food for residents and relatives. • Buxton House, Weymouth, is hosting a Right Royal tea and tiara afternoon.

• Elizabeth House, Poole, features The Land Girls in cabaret at 3pm for residents and friends.

• Leybourne House, Bournemouth, is hosting a spring fayre with a memorabilia table, refreshments, games, tombola. From 2pm. All welcome. 20p admission.

Wednesday 6 June

• Buxton House, Weymouth, is holding a VE Day celebration.

• Elizabeth House, Poole, is presenting a Punch & Judy Show at 3pm for residents. Friends welcome.

Friday 8 June

• Elizabeth House, Poole, has invited an ice cream van to provide ices in the garden and there will also be strawberries and cream. Relatives and friends welcome.

Saturday 9 June

• Sussexdown, Storrington, will be celebrating the Queen’s birthday, and among the guests will be a Pearly King and Queen.
