Double Christmas celebration

23rd November 2010

Mayor Paul Kimber, manager Trisha Ashby-Rudd, staff and residents with the Buxton House Christmas

A double Christmas celebration took place at Buxton House at the end of November. The Mayor of Weymouth and Portland, Paul Kimber, switched on the Christmas tree lights and delighted the residents by joining them for tea and mince pies. The Christmas tree had been donated by the uncle of Alex Every, Buxton House’s award-winning chef. The home’s Christmas Fair took place on the following day and raised over £400 for the residents’ amenities fund.   “The Christmas Fair was extremely successful and there was a lovely atmosphere,” says Trisha Ashby-Rudd, the manager of Buxton House. “I would like to give special thanks to all the staff who helped with the decorations and the organisation of the event – and to Annette Hart for the fabulous cakes!” Buxton House is one of 16 residential care homes in Dorset operated by Poole-based Care South, a major provider of high quality residential and home care in the south of England.
