Downton Abbey’s Julian Fellowes officially opens Beauchamp House

18th October 2012

Following the extension and refurbishment, Beauchamp House, a beautiful Georgian manor house set in the village of Hatch Beauchamp, Somerset was officially opened on October 15th by Lord Fellowes DL.

Now a 54 bedded home with full ensuite facilities, the home provides residents with full nursing care delivered by a team of committed, fully trained staff under the guidance of Pat Britten who has been at Beauchamp House for 10 years and has calmly managed the home throughout the two year building programme.

Julian Fellowes, perhaps best known at present for his world acclaimed Downton Abbey TV series, is welcomed by Care South to formally open the home.

Says Julian: “I am delighted to be invited to this wonderful place and to meet some of those already enjoying the security and comfort of this charming building.  We are all hopeful that in our latter years when we are no longer able to look after ourselves that such an environment will be available to us. It has been a great pleasure to be asked to take part in the official opening and I am certain that Care South staff will ensure that many people will spend a great number of very happy days here”.
