Residents enjoying an italian meal during ‘Food Glorious Food’ month.
Residents of St Martins residential care home in Gillingham enjoyed an Italian inspired lunch as part of Food Glorious Food month.
Home baked pizza and spaghetti Bolognese, minestrone soup, and tiramisu were on the menu, accompanied by sparkling juices. There were also a few strawberries grown by resident Melody Melville in the home’s courtyard garden.
Food Glorious Food is this year’s challenge by NAPA (the National Association of Providers of Activities for Older People) and aims to inspire opportunities for activities which ensure that mealtimes are fun experiences in the day rather than just routines to be carried out. The aim is to ensure that as many residents and staff as possible are involved in fun food related activities.
Activities can happen at any time during June and NAPA is offering five prizes and invitations to a gala afternoon tea event in London to the most inspirational activities. An application form can be downloaded from www.napa-activities.co.uk – ‘What’s New’.
