Activities galore at Kenwith Castle
Kenwith Castle has had a busy time recently, with residents enjoying lots of activities and outings.
Residents recently climbed aboard the Care South minibus for a lovely afternoon drive to Hartland Quay on the North Devon coast. Everyone very much enjoyed the beautiful scenery and refreshing sea air. While parked a stone’s throw from the sea, taking in the view, residents ate a picnic of tea and cake on the mini bus. The trip was a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a sunny day by the sea.
Some Kenwith Castle ladies recently spent an afternoon baking. The delicious Bakewell Tarts went down very well with the residents and staff. These ladies certainly know how to make great pastry!
The same day, a small group of residents spent some time potting up plants. Residents had planted the Foxgloves as seeds a little while ago, so it was satisfying for them to see the plants grow enough to be potted.
Kenwith Castle recently acquired the board game Upwords. Similar to Scrabble, Upwords challenges the residents to build the most complicated words they can think of, providing hours of stimulating fun. Residents are so taken with the game that staff have decided to buy a few more!
Finally, residents took a morning trip to Northam Reminiscence cafe. As usual, there was lots tea, coffee and scrumptious cake consumed by everyone! There was plenty of entertainment for residents with a guest speaker and a raffle. Some of the Kenwith Castle table were very lucky with the raffle, winning prizes and taking home leftover cake.
It’s been a busy time for the residents of Kenwith Castle, and they’re making the most of it!
