Afternoon tea with a view for Wickmeads
Residents at Wickmeads recently enjoyed a visit to the Miramar Hotel in Bournemouth for delicious afternoon tea.
The visit to the Miramar Hotel was a real treat for the residents who enjoyed the splendour of the Edwardian building. Originally built as a private residence in 1905, the hotel was owned by the Austrian Ambassador who used it as a weekend home. Over the years, the Miramar Hotel has hosted many famous names; learning about the history provided plenty of interest for the residents.
While taking in the magnificent sea views, the residents dined on a quintessential afternoon tea, with lots of choices for tea and coffee. All residents had a lovely time; one lady even said she felt “like a posh lady of London”.
The scones (with jam and clotted cream, of course!) went down particularly well with everyone.
