A busy August for St Ives House so far!
Residents at St Ives House have welcomed August with an array of activities, starting with a violin recital from a staff member’s son in the courtyard.
Residents reminisced over the classical songs and enjoyed reliving the happy memories inspired by them. Some of the residents even got up to have a dance and joined the staff in a twirl!
This was followed up by a quiz and Jenga session. The quiz included three categories, easy, medium and difficult, making it interactive for all as they deliberated over the answers. The quiz has certainly woken their competitive side, they are looking to form two quiz teams for more of a challenge.
The fun didn’t stop there, they also hosted a bingo morning which involved a lot of enthusiasm and chatter. Three lucky residents got full rows and certificates – lucky resident, Pat, even got a full card. The residents are looking forward to this being a regular activity at the home.
The final activity was a round of skittles, all the residents enjoyed participating and cheering on from the side-lines. The modest winner, Richard, was surprised to be crowned the champion but he was more than deserving of the win. The residents are looking forward to their next match, where the ladies have challenged the gentlemen to a game, which is sure to be competitive!
