Elizabeth House makes mince pies

4th January 2018

In the run up to Christmas, residents at Elizabeth House got busy making delicious mince pies.

The residents made the mince pies from scratch, rolling the pastry, filling them and creating pretty designs to decorate the tops. Lots of residents got involved in the baking, keen to utilise the skills they have honed over many Christmases. Everyone made a different style, reflecting the mince pies they love best. As the pies cooked, the home was filled with the wonderful smell of Christmas baking, which had everyone’s mouths watering.

Once baked, it was time to sample the bakers’ creations. The mince pies went down very well with all the residents, and the bakers were highly complimented on their efforts by everyone. The Elizabeth House residents look forward to delighting each other with their baking skills again soon.
