Queensmead prepare for summer
Residents at Queensmead have been particularly busy over the past few weeks preparing for the warmer weather. Residents made the most of the sunshine by tidying up the garden, rearranging the flower pots and planting seedlings for the vegetable garden. Daisy, one of the residents, is the home’s garden expert having worked at her parents’ plant nursery in her youngers years. Daisy was full of tips and advice for the other residents whilst doing the gardening.
The residents planted a variety of garden herbs, strawberries and peas which will be used by the chefs when preparing food for the residents. The home is hoping to increase the amount of home-grown produce they use in their menu.
The finish off the busy few weeks, residents were visited by Singing Suzy, a local entertainer. Suzy entertained the residents with an array of music from the last few decades, a particular favourite amongst the residents was the swinging sixties. Staff and residents joined in with the singing and dancing, which is a favourite pastime at the home!
