St Martins Grange Christmas
Residents at St Martins Grange enjoyed a full calendar of Christmas events in December.
The festive period was kicked off by a visit from the children at Topsie Rabbit Kindergarten, who came to help make paperchain decorations and sing Christmas songs with the residents. The Topsie Rabbit Kindergarten children often come to visit St Martins Grange and the residents always really look forward to seeing the children.
Then St Martins Grange hosted a Christmas Bazaar which included lots of Christmas gifts for sale along with a raffle. The day was very busy, with lots of visitors including residents’ families and friends. There were three special guests in attendance too: Mayor Belinda Ridout and Councillor Barry Von Clements, who helped call out raffle winners, and of course, Santa himself, who handed out chocolate to all the visitors.
Children from St Mary The Virgin Primary School visited St Martins Grange to sing and act out Christmas songs which delighted the residents. During a very well-earned break, the children chatted with the residents about their Christmas plans.
Some residents and staff enjoyed a trip to Sturminster Exchange to watch a Christmas Memories show. The show was thoroughly enjoyed by residents and staff alike, and everyone has already booked their tickets to the next show in the Spring.
The residents were also visited by a number of musical entertainers over the festive period. There was Colin, a singer and guitarist who performed a wonderful collection of songs to the residents and The Shroton Ukulele Band who delighted residents with the impressive music made from such tiny instruments. The residents were also treated to two performances of Christmas carols, one from the local church choir and one from the local Cub Scouts.
Finally, on Christmas day everyone at St Martins Grange enjoyed a delicious and traditional Christmas dinner which was washed down with wine that was kindly donated by Grape UK, from The Nadder Centre in Tisbury. Residents very much enjoyed the festive period.
