It was a day filled with smiles, laughter and gentle cuddles as Dorset House Care Home welcomed Cheryl and Lauren from Purbeck Animal Assisted Learning Services (PAALS) for a truly heart-warming visit.

They arrived with their wonderful helpers and a few very special guests, including the charming ponies Dizzy and Bella, some adorable baby bunnies, and the lovely dog Lucy, who quickly became a star of the day. Lucy impressed everyone with her clever tricks and friendly nature, happily enjoying all the attention from residents and staff alike.

The baby rabbits were a huge hit, with residents enjoying the chance to hold and stroke them. The atmosphere was full of joy and calm as everyone shared in the soothing presence of the animals. Outside, Dizzy and Bella took in the sunshine in our beautiful garden, while residents came out to give them a gentle pat and ask Cheryl questions about their personalities and care.

Resident Pauline was especially delighted by the visit, explaining that it brought back fond memories of the horses she owned in her younger years. It was a touching moment and a lovely reminder of how powerful animal therapy can be in sparking connection and reminiscence.

The morning was a wonderful success, filled with companionship, conversation and laughter. We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to PAALS for bringing so much happiness to Dorset House. It truly was a visit to remember.
