A Morning of Remembrance and Reflection at St Ives House

Yesterday morning, residents, friends and families from St Ives House and St Ives Place gathered in the Bistro for a heartfelt Service of Remembrance. It was a moving occasion filled with reflection, gratitude and unity as everyone came together to honour those who have served and those who continue to serve.

The service began with poems read by ex-service personnel, offering thoughtful words that captured the courage and sacrifice of those who fought for our freedom. Their readings set a reflective tone for the morning and were met with deep appreciation.

Together, everyone recited The Lord’s Prayer, before the moment of silence was marked at 11.00am by a stirring performance of The Last Post, played beautifully by Sue, a resident at St Ives House. The two-minute silence was a powerful moment of stillness and remembrance, followed by a final bugle recital from Sue to close the service.

It was a touching morning shared between residents, families and staff, filled with gratitude and respect for all who have given so much.
