A Sweet Celebration for World Chocolate Day at Maiden Castle House
World Chocolate Day was celebrated in the most magical way at Maiden Castle House, with a day full of fun, flavour and intergenerational joy. Residents enjoyed a rich mix of activities that brought smiles, laughter, and of course — plenty of chocolate!
Morning Fun with Little Helpers
The day began with a special visit from local preschool children, who joined residents for a series of chocolate-themed activities. The highlight? Making Rice Krispy cakes together! Little hands and wise hands worked side by side, stirring, decorating and sneaking the occasional sweet treat.
It’s always heart-warming to see the generations come together, sharing stories and laughter in the process. The joy on both sides of the table was unmistakable, as bonds were formed over bowls of chocolate and sprinkles.
An Afternoon of Pure Imagination
In the afternoon, the home was transformed into a scene straight out of a storybook. Residents gathered to watch the original Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, complete with magical Wonka bars and a flowing chocolate fountain that was just as popular with the staff as it was with residents!
Adding to the magic, our amazing staff team joined in the fun by dressing up in fancy dress costumes inspired by the film, sparking smiles and a few surprised chuckles. From Oompa Loompas to Willy Wonka himself, it was a feast for the eyes as well as the taste buds.
A Sweet Success
The whole day was a perfect celebration of the Food, Fun and Friendship we champion at Care South. Residents spoke warmly of the shared activities and were delighted by the thoughtful touches that made the day feel truly special.
From preschool laughter to chocolatey indulgence, World Chocolate Day brought our community together in the sweetest way possible.
