Yesterday was a truly special day at Beauchamp House as we welcomed Sharandys Birds of Prey for an unforgettable animal experience. Residents were excited to meet some very special visitors and to learn more about the fascinating world of birds of prey and small animals.

Meeting Truffle, Cobweb and Friends

Among the delightful guests were Truffle the guinea pig, Lou Lou the giant lop bunny, Cobweb the barn owl and Tixie the owl. Each animal brought their own charm and character, and it was lovely to see residents’ faces light up as they were introduced. A real highlight of the afternoon was watching Cobweb the barn owl fly gracefully across the room several times. Residents watched in awe as her wings spread wide and she glided effortlessly from one side to the other. It was a magical moment that sparked conversation and admiration.

Residents were also given the opportunity to gently touch the animals, experiencing their soft fur and feathers under careful guidance. For many, it brought back fond memories of pets and countryside walks from years gone by.

Learning and Laughter

Sharon and Matt from Sharandys spent time chatting with residents, sharing interesting facts about the animals and answering questions. Their warmth and knowledge made the experience even more engaging and enjoyable. The visit created a relaxed and uplifting atmosphere throughout the home. There was plenty of laughter, curiosity and heartfelt appreciation for the animals and the team who brought them along.

The Joy of Shared Experiences

Experiences like this offer more than just entertainment. They provide meaningful sensory engagement, encourage conversation and create shared memories between residents and staff. The afternoon was enjoyed by all, and it was wonderful to see how something so unique could bring such happiness.
