Alexandra House – Gingerbread Challenge
Activities Lead Nicola said “We have had an absolute blast here at Alexandra House creating gingerbread houses to enter in the competition.
The chef (Vicky) made us a huge Gingerbread House with a Thatched Roof! We then decided a Grinch theme would be fun so we added windows, doors, wreaths, a chimney with the Grinch in it and Santa’s legs sticking out of the top! Residents assisted by sorting out the sweets into colours for us. The big house was chosen by staff and residents as our entry for the competition.”
The residents also made two separate smaller houses which they loved decorating (and taste testing the sweets!). Derek and his wife loved working together to help decorate a house. They said “This has been great, we have never done this before.”
Caryna dressed up as a giant Gingerbread man and residents thought it was so funny seeing her ‘dancing’ around and taking photos with residents and families.
