The residents of Alexandra House care home enjoy participating in baking activities, and for St David’s Day, this naturally included making Welsh cakes. The residents had a blast getting messy baking Welsh cakes on St David’s Day. There was much laughter as they mixed the ingredients together, rolled out the mixture, and cut out the cakes. A few Welsh residents were particularly impressed that St David’s Day was celebrated.

In the afternoon, the fun continued with residents colouring daffodils and learning more about the origins of St David from handouts created for the occasion. Ann Wilding remarked, “It was great fun making the cakes, and they tasted amazing too!”
