Beauchamp House Celebrates Harvest Festival with West Hatch Beaver Scouts

A Special Saturday Together

On Saturday 27  September, Beauchamp House was delighted to welcome the West Hatch Beaver Scouts for a creative afternoon with our residents. The visit brought together two generations in a joyful celebration of teamwork, conversation, and creativity, as everyone worked together to prepare a beautiful display for Harvest Festival.

Crafting for the Season

The lounge was soon filled with laughter and concentration as both residents and Scouts got to work on colourful harvest-themed crafts. Together, they cut out and assembled cheerful sunflowers, created paper autumn leaves, and crafted fruits and vegetables. These handmade decorations were carefully arranged into a large basket, creating a vibrant and eye-catching centrepiece.

Adding to the display was a particularly special contribution – a large courgette that had been planted earlier in the year by the residents themselves. It was a proud reminder of the home’s gardening efforts and a perfect touch for the Harvest celebration.

Building Bonds Through Conversation

As they crafted, the residents and Scouts enjoyed chatting and sharing stories. The young visitors brought energy and curiosity, while residents enjoyed reminiscing and offering words of encouragement. The conversations were as meaningful as the activity itself, creating connections that will be remembered fondly.

A Joyful Afternoon for All

By the end of the session, the basket was complete, brimming with colour, creativity, and a sense of achievement. Both residents and Scouts agreed they had enjoyed a truly lovely afternoon together.

The activity captured the essence of food, fun and friendship, reminding us how special it is to celebrate traditions like Harvest Festival while also making new memories with friends from the wider community.
