Beauchamp House Creates a Beautiful Harvest Display at St. John the Baptist Church
Residents at Beauchamp House were delighted to take part in a special community project this month — creating a stunning Harvest Festival display for St. John the Baptist Church. The team and residents worked together to bring a burst of autumn colour and creativity to the church’s windowsill, celebrating the season of gratitude and abundance.
A Community Effort in Full Bloom
The display was a wonderful collaboration between Beauchamp House residents and the West Hatch Beaver Scouts, who had recently joined us for a creative afternoon of arts and crafts. During their visit, residents and Scouts worked side by side to cut, glue, and decorate a beautiful collection of paper pumpkins, carrots, fruit, leaves, and sunflowers. The laughter and teamwork during that activity made the finished pieces even more special.
These colourful creations became the centrepiece of our Harvest display, bringing warmth and cheer to the church as part of its seasonal celebration.
Bringing Nature Indoors
To complement the handmade decorations, the display also featured real courgettes grown by our residents earlier in the year — a true testament to their hard work and care in the garden. Beautiful greenery and fuchsias from the Hatch Beauchamp gardens added a natural finishing touch, tying everything together in a wonderful blend of colour, texture, and creativity.
The result was a charming and heartfelt display that perfectly captured the spirit of Harvest — a time to give thanks for nature’s bounty and the community connections that make life so meaningful.
Celebrating Creativity and Connection
Residents took great pride in seeing their handiwork displayed in the church, knowing it would be admired by visitors and parishioners throughout the Harvest Festival. It was a lovely opportunity for Beauchamp House to contribute to the local community while celebrating the values of Food, Fun and Friendship that sit at the heart of everything we do.
The activity also sparked conversations about childhood harvest memories, favourite autumn recipes, and family traditions — filling the home with warmth and nostalgia.
