Bringing Homes Together: A Day of Friendship and Fun at St Ives House
St Ives House was delighted to welcome residents from Alexandra House and Wickmeads for a day of laughter, learning and light-hearted competition.
The day began with a fascinating historical talk about Bournemouth, delivered by Hudson from Wickmeads. With many residents having lived locally, the talk sparked memories, conversations, and a lot of interest – offering both insight and nostalgia.
This was followed by a traditional Friday lunch, featuring beer-battered cod and chips, and a classic jam roly-poly with custard for dessert. The meal was a hit, with plenty of compliments going to the Chef from all three homes.
After lunch, it was time for a lively game of Bingo and the competition didn’t disappoint! There were plenty of laughs and smiles as numbers were called and cards filled, with Alexandra House emerging as the overall winners.
As the day came to a close, everyone agreed it was a wonderful opportunity to socialise, make new friends, and enjoy something a little different. Peter from Alexandra House kept the friendly rivalry going by cheekily challenging St Ives House to a rematch, having now claimed victories in both Scrabble and Bingo!
It was a heartwarming day full of community spirit, and all three homes are already looking forward to the next get-together.
