Residents at Buxton House enjoyed a colourful afternoon of creativity, laughter and refreshment as they became expert mixologists for a special alcohol-free cocktail making session.

The garden at the Care South home in Weymouth was transformed into a lively tropical bar, creating the perfect setting for residents to mix, shake and taste their own colourful creations.

Residents create their own tropical drinks

Residents were invited to choose from a selection of juices, fresh fruit garnishes and fun cocktail umbrellas to create drinks to suit their own tastes.

The afternoon’s menu included several favourites, including Buxton Punch, virgin Piña Coladas and the home’s very own Watermelon Surprise.

With plenty of colourful ingredients to choose from, residents enjoyed experimenting with different combinations before sitting back to sample their creations together.

A fun way to support hydration

As well as being an enjoyable social activity, the cocktail making session offered a creative way to encourage residents to stay hydrated.

Turning drinks into something colourful, interactive and fun helped make hydration an enjoyable part of the afternoon, while also giving residents the opportunity to make their own choices about flavours and ingredients.

There were plenty of smiles and laughs as residents compared their creations and enjoyed the tropical atmosphere in the garden.
