Residents at Buxton House were delighted to attend a special fundraising coffee morning in support of Joey Banham, a Budmouth Academy student raising money for his inspirational trip to Borneo. Joey will be volunteering at an orangutan conservation centre and contributing to important community projects, making the event a meaningful and exciting opportunity for our residents to get involved.

The morning was filled with friendly conversation, tempting treats and plenty of fun activities. Pat and Joan D enjoyed a delicious slice of coffee and walnut cake, while Joan C chose the ever-popular lemon drizzle. With warm cups of tea and coffee in hand, everyone settled in for a lovely social gathering.

Residents then tried their luck on the tombola, with both Joan C and Joan D winning prizes and celebrating their success. Pat and Joan C also had a go at Guess the Name of the Gingerbread Man, adding a touch of playful competition to the morning.

Joey’s upcoming trip will see him supporting wildlife conservation, helping protect endangered orangutans and contributing to vital local community initiatives. Every penny raised through events like this takes him one step closer to achieving his goal while also supporting causes that make a lasting difference.

Buxton House was proud to support Joey’s fundraising efforts, and our residents shared how much they enjoyed the event, the cakes and the warm community spirit.
