Our care homes have been designed to promote engagement and independence, with features such as memory boxes and stimulating imagery to help residents to find their way around. We promote residents wandering with a purpose through feature walls and the location of communal areas. Dementia can affect a person’s sense of identity, so we actively encourage reminiscing about positive memories through a range of person-centred activities. We work with specialist groups who support group activities and stimulate conversations. We are also partnered with The Daily Sparkle, a newspaper and app, which helps staff get to know and understand the people they care for.
