Care South at Home Celebrates Kathy as Employee of the Month

Care South at Home (Somerset & West Dorset) is delighted to recognise Kathy as Employee of the Month for May 2026 in recognition of her outstanding professionalism, dedication and commitment to delivering safe, person-centred care.

As a Care Supervisor, Kathy plays a vital role in supporting clients, colleagues and the wider service. Her calm approach, attention to detail and willingness to go above and beyond have made a significant difference across multiple areas of the business.

Recently, Kathy demonstrated exceptional professionalism following an incident within a client’s home. Taking a proactive and measured approach, she completed detailed risk assessments to ensure firearms were safely and securely stored in accordance with compliance requirements and organisational procedures. Her sound judgement and thorough approach to safeguarding helped ensure the ongoing safety and wellbeing of both clients and colleagues.

Alongside her day-to-day responsibilities, Kathy has also provided invaluable support with Discharge to Assess (D2A) co-ordination and assessments. This important work helps individuals transition safely from hospital back into their own homes, ensuring they receive the right care and support at the right time.

In addition, Kathy has stepped in to support the Assisted Living Service during a particularly busy period, demonstrating flexibility, teamwork and an unwavering commitment to helping wherever she is needed most.

Her willingness to support different areas of the service, combined with her professionalism and positive attitude, has earned the respect and appreciation of colleagues across Care South at Home.
