Castle Dene Residents Stir Up Sweet Treats Ahead of Summer Fayre

There was plenty of laughter, teamwork and chocolatey fun at Castle Dene as residents rolled up their sleeves to make delicious crispy cakes in preparation for the home’s eagerly anticipated Summer Fayre.

The baking session brought everyone together to help create sweet treats that will be sold during the Summer Fayre, with residents enjoying every stage of the process, from mixing the ingredients to spooning the mixture into colourful cake cases.

As the cakes took shape, conversation soon turned to one important question: “How much should we sell them for?”

Suggestions came thick and fast, with prices ranging from a bargain 50p all the way up to an ambitious £100! After plenty of discussion and laughter, everyone agreed that 50p was the perfect price to make sure visitors could enjoy a tasty homemade treat while supporting the event.

The cow print cake cases proved to be another talking point, with residents delighted that they tied in perfectly with this year’s cowboy-themed Summer Fayre. The fun design added an extra touch of character to the cakes and helped build excitement for the celebrations ahead.

Of course, no baking session would be complete without a little taste test, and residents were more than happy to sample their creations. Judging by the smiles around the table, the crispy cakes were a great success.

The activity offered far more than an opportunity to bake. It encouraged conversation, decision-making, creativity and teamwork, while giving residents the chance to contribute to an event they are all looking forward to.
