To mark International Nurses Day 2025, Elizabeth House welcomed its district nursing and healthcare assistant (HCA) team for a joyful afternoon of gratitude, fun, and heartfelt celebration.

The event was a chance to honour the strong partnership between the visiting nurses and the team at Elizabeth House. Residents, staff, families, and guests came together for a cheerful afternoon tea party, complete with fun games and nursing-themed quizzes that brought laughter and lively conversation throughout the home. As a small token of appreciation, the visiting nurses and their team were presented with gift bags as a gesture of thanks for the kindness, professionalism, and unwavering support they provide to residents and staff alike.

The team at Elizabeth House reflected on the deep sense of gratitude that residents and their loved ones consistently express for the care delivered by nurses and HCA staff. Over the years, their dedication, compassion, and quiet strength have made a lasting impact.

They are more than care providers — they are friends, listeners, advocates, and often the comforting voice that helps residents face daily challenges with dignity and hope. It is no secret that nursing is both physically and emotionally demanding. Yet, time and again, the nurses and HCAs who visit Elizabeth House rise to the occasion, giving so much of themselves in service of others.

Elizabeth House simply would not be the same without them. The entire community is profoundly grateful for their presence, their skills, and the special qualities they bring to the home.

Thank you to every nurse and healthcare assistant — not just on this special day, but every day.
