Celebrating World Gratitude Day at Dorset House
A Day of Thanks and Appreciation
On Sunday 21 September, Dorset House marked World Gratitude Day with a truly heartwarming activity that brought residents and staff closer together. The home was filled with joy and appreciation as residents dedicated their afternoon to creating thoughtful gifts for the care team who support them every day.
Handcrafted Tokens of Thanks
With care and creativity, residents assembled beautifully decorated packages, each adorned with delicate roses and handwritten tags. These small but meaningful gifts carried a very personal touch, reflecting the gratitude residents feel towards the dedicated team at Dorset House.
The finished tokens were lovingly placed in the staffroom, accompanied by a note inviting staff to help themselves. It was a simple gesture but one filled with warmth and sincerity, ensuring every member of the team felt recognised and valued.

A Community of Care
This thoughtful activity was more than just an act of gift-giving—it was a celebration of the strong bonds that exist within Dorset House. The residents were keen to express how much they appreciate the daily support, compassion and kindness shown by the team.
A Meaningful Celebration
World Gratitude Day was the perfect opportunity to pause, reflect and celebrate the incredible work of the Dorset House staff. The smiles on both residents’ and team members’ faces showed just how powerful gratitude can be in creating connection, positivity and joy.
At Dorset House, every day is about food, fun and friendship, and on this occasion, gratitude played a starring role in reminding everyone just how special their community is.
