Creature Teachers Bring Smiles and Laughter to Talbot View

Residents, families and staff at Talbot View enjoyed a fun-filled and fascinating afternoon when the much-loved Creature Teachers returned to the home with a variety of animals for everyone to meet and learn about together.

The therapeutic animal session brought people together through a shared love of animals, creating plenty of smiles, laughter and conversation throughout the visit. Residents had the opportunity to interact closely with a range of creatures, with many enjoying the sensory and calming benefits the experience provided.

One of the stars of the afternoon was a lively Katydid, which quickly became a favourite among residents and staff alike. The unusual insect brought lots of laughter as it climbed onto shoulders and happily jumped from Peter to Mary during the session.

John was fascinated by the experience and commented that he could still feel the Katydid’s tiny velcro-like feet long after it had moved on.

The visit encouraged curiosity, engagement and meaningful social interaction, while also giving residents the chance to share stories, memories and experiences connected to animals and nature.

Animal therapy sessions are always popular at Talbot View and form part of the home’s commitment to providing enriching activities that support wellbeing, connection and joyful shared experiences for residents and their loved ones.
