Dancing Queens and Garden Songs: ABBA Mania Hits Fern Brook Lodge
There was no shortage of sparkle, singalongs, or sequins at Fern Brook Lodge, as residents and staff embraced a full day of ABBA Mania – and what a day it was!
From the moment the music started, the home was alive with the timeless energy of ABBA’s greatest hits. Staff got into the spirit with ABBA-inspired outfits, bringing even more fun and flair to the occasion.
Quizzes, Music, and a Pub Garden Vibe
The day kicked off with an ABBA-themed quiz, putting everyone’s knowledge of the iconic Swedish supergroup to the test. Laughter filled the air as teams competed to remember song titles, lyrics, and trivia from the golden age of disco.
In the afternoon, residents gathered around our lovely garden pub area, where we were joined by the fantastic Pippa, who treated everyone to a live performance of ABBA classics. From Dancing Queen to Mamma Mia, there wasn’t a foot that wasn’t tapping or a voice that didn’t join in.
The music even reached beyond the home – neighbours from nearby houses could be seen dancing and singing along in their gardens, turning the day into a true community celebration.
A Truly Memorable Afternoon
Residents were still smiling long after the music ended, with many calling it one of the best events we’ve had.
“It was the best afternoon,” said Rosemary and Margaret, still beaming after the last encore.
