Yesterday, the residents of Dorset House enjoyed a delightful visit from the children of Muddy Boots Nursery, who never fail to brighten their day.

Together, they decorated rich tea biscuits with icing, sprinkles, and chocolate drops, creating patterns, funny faces, and even Halloween characters. The residents eagerly joined in the fun, with some sneaking an early taste test.

The group also collaborated to make shortbread, creaming the sugar and butter together, kneading in the flour, and then rolling and cutting the dough into shapes. The residents looked forward to enjoying the freshly baked shortbread with their tea and coffee. The children brought smiles to everyone’s faces and even sang “I’m a Little Teapot” and “Wheels on the Bus.”

The children were so skilled at making biscuits that there were plenty for both the residents and the nursery. Activities Assistant Amy delivered some of the biscuits to the nursery so the children could share them with their families.

Pat expressed her joy at seeing the children, especially little Nicolas, and mentioned how quickly the morning passed with their company. She wished they could stay all day. Brian enjoyed baking with the children and gave them high fives and handshakes as they left, remarking on how lovely it was to have them there.  Jeff said it was such fun seeing the children, he enjoyed play acting when the children and Activities Assistant Amy tried to surprise him.
