Dorset House Residents Enjoy a Special Visit from Friendly Alpacas

There were plenty of smiles, curiosity and gentle moments at Dorset House recently when two very special four-legged visitors spent the day meeting residents.

Wendy from Alpaca Adventure brought along her friendly alpacas, Sox and Alfie, for a memorable animal therapy visit that delighted residents throughout the home.

The gentle pair quickly won hearts as they made their way around Dorset House, visiting each of the lounges before spending time with residents relaxing in their bedrooms, ensuring everyone had the opportunity to enjoy the experience.

Residents were fascinated to meet the alpacas up close and took the opportunity to learn more about them. Wendy answered lots of questions about how Sox and Alfie are cared for, what they like to eat and their daily routines, sparking plenty of interesting conversations and shared memories of animals and countryside life.

Many residents enjoyed gently stroking the alpacas’ soft necks, with the calm and affectionate animals happily interacting with everyone they met. Their relaxed nature created a peaceful atmosphere throughout the home, bringing moments of comfort, laughter and connection.
