Dorset House unable to disguise smiles at masked singer event

The team at Dorset House took to the stage for a special masked singer activity. Staff from the care and hospitality teams performed six songs for the residents, but with a ‘Masked Singer’ twist…

Hidden behind masks made by Muddy Boots Nursery children and a glittery gold screen, our very own pop stars covered hit songs whilst residents had to guess which member of the team was the mystery singer.

Bert and Dawn from the kitchen team performed a duet of ‘Livin’ on a Prayer’ by Bon Jovi, whilst Bev, Dawn, and Cheryl from the housekeeping team sang ‘Puppet on a String’ by Sandie Shaw. ‘All About You’ by McFly was sung by Care Assistant, Andi, and Meghan Trainor’s ‘Made You Look’ was performed by Care Assistant, Ashleigh. Care Assistant, Kate, sung ‘These Boots Are Made for Walking’ by Nancy Sinatra and a rendition of ABBA’s ‘Dancing Queen’ was staged by Care Assistant, Coleen.

Lucy, daughter of Activities Lead at Dorset House, Sam, helped her mum run the event and assisted residents with voting and made two masks for the performers.

Andrea Moorhouse, Deputy Manager at Dorset House, said: “We’re always looking for new ways to create special memories with residents in our care and their loved ones, and this event did just that. It was amazing to see a room of smiling faces and the day was non-stop fun for everyone involved.”

Sam, Activities Lead at Dorset House, added: “This was a very special event which will be the talk of the home for weeks. Thank you to the amazing staff that took part – you were all brilliant. And thank you to my daughter for her help on the day.”

The special event is the talk of the home and created lasting memories for residents in our care and their loved ones.
