Elizabeth House Marks VE Day with Music, Joy and Intergenerational Moments
Elizabeth House celebrated VE Day in a truly special way, with a day full of creativity, music, and heartfelt tribute to those who served.
The morning began with a visit from the children at Muddy Boots Nursery, who joined residents for a fun and engaging arts and crafts session. The laughter and energy in the room were contagious, and resident David shared, “The children make me very happy.” The intergenerational connection brought smiles to every face and set a joyful tone for the day.
In the afternoon, the home was filled with the sound of 1940s classics, thanks to a fantastic live performance by the Poole Ukulele Puckers & Strummers (PUPS). The music had everyone tapping their toes and heading straight for the dance floor.
Ruby, one of the residents, joined the band for a few songs – much to everyone’s delight and Peter kept the energy going, leading the dancing and entertaining all in attendance.
It was a beautiful day filled with love, laughter, and respect for the sacrifices of our heroes, offering a meaningful and uplifting way to honour the significance of VE Day.
