Elizabeth House Residents Join Annual Memory Walk
A Day of Sunshine and Memories
On Monday 22 September, residents Fran, Jean, and Peter C from Elizabeth House were delighted to join the Wickmeads team and residents for their much-loved annual Memory Walk. The weather could not have been more perfect, with clear blue skies and gentle sunshine setting the scene for a day filled with fresh air, friendship, and reflection.
Walking for a Cause
The walk was a meaningful way for everyone to come together to show support and raise awareness during World Alzheimer’s Month. As they strolled, the residents enjoyed not only the exercise but also the chance to connect with others, share stories, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
Fran, taking in the scenery, remarked on the “blue sky and fluffy clouds” that made the walk such a pleasure. For Peter, the day sparked fond memories, as he shared how it brought back moments from his past. These reflections highlighted the powerful way activities like the Memory Walk can inspire conversation and nostalgia.
A Hearty Lunch and Trishaw Rides
After completing the walk, everyone enjoyed a well-deserved lunch of delicious cottage pie, which was followed by an extra special treat – rides in a trishaw around the beach. The experience of travelling along the seafront with the sea breeze in the air brought smiles to everyone’s faces. It was a moment of pure joy and adventure, with residents thoroughly enjoying the chance to try something new.

Food, Fun and Friendship
The day captured everything that life at Elizabeth House and Care South is all about: food, fun and friendship. It was more than just a walk – it was about creating memories, celebrating the outdoors, and sharing laughter and stories with friends old and new.
As Jean summed it up afterwards, it was a truly lovely day that everyone will remember for a long time to come.
