Fairlawn say a fond farewell to Stephen

It was a double celebration for a member of housekeeping Stephen who retired on the same day as his birthday. Head of housekeeping Bernie organised a surprise party attended by staff and residents, much to Steve’s surprise and delight. He was greeted by cheers and the singing of Happy Birthday, and enjoyed reading his card and opening his gifts.

Having worked for Care South for nearly 9 years, Stephen will be sorely missed and was thanked for his loyal service. He said he is a little sad to be leaving but is not intending to be idle in retirement. He is planning to do more cycling, as well as try out the metal detector his wife has bought him, something he has always wanted to do!

The party typified the family feeling that is shared by the residents and staff alike, where everyone cares for one another.
