Fern Brook Lodge Begins Dementia Action Week with Reminiscence and Rhymes
To mark the beginning of Dementia Action Week, Fern Brook Lodge welcomed the return of a familiar and much-loved guest, Jan from Reminiscence and Rhymes.
Jan is a regular visitor to the home and always brings with her a collection of memorabilia designed to spark memories and conversation. Her trolley is a source of great anticipation, and this time it was filled with items from kitchens and baking of years gone by.
Residents were delighted to explore the objects, sharing stories and recognising familiar tools and utensils from their younger days. The session inspired lots of discussion, with many recalling cherished memories of home baking and family traditions.
As always, Jan’s visit created a warm and engaging atmosphere. It was a morning filled with thoughtful reflection, laughter, and meaningful interaction, setting a positive tone for the week ahead.
Everyone agreed it had been a lovely and interesting experience, and the home looks forward to welcoming Jan again soon.
