Festive cheer has truly arrived at Fairlawn, with a wonderful week full of Christmas sights, sounds and shared moments that brought smiles to residents and visitors alike.

The celebrations began with a festive outing to John Browns Garden Centre, where residents enjoyed taking in the sparkling Christmas lights and beautifully decorated displays. The visit offered a lovely opportunity to soak up the seasonal atmosphere and reminisce about Christmases past. Des shared, “It is lovely to see all the Christmas decorations in the garden centre,” capturing the joy many felt during the trip.

Back at Fairlawn, the festive spirit continued with some very special visitors. Children from Parley First School and Ferndown First School joined residents for heartwarming performances, filling the home with singing, laughter and Christmas cheer. Jean reflected fondly on the visits, saying, “I love seeing the children sing, it reminds me when I used to be a Nanny.” These intergenerational moments created meaningful connections and brought a real sense of warmth to the home.

Adding to the celebrations, residents were treated to a visit from our much loved Piano Man, Alan, who played a wonderful mix of festive tunes. This prompted plenty of singing along, dancing and joyful moments shared together, reinforcing the importance of music in bringing people together.

Everyone at Fairlawn would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Parley First School and Ferndown First School for making it possible for the children to visit and share such special moments with our residents. These visits are a treasured part of life at Fairlawn and truly reflect the power of community at Christmas time.
