Festive Fun and Friendship: Elf Day Celebrations at Dorset House

Dorset House was full of festive spirit as residents, staff and visitors came together to celebrate Elf Day in support of Alzheimer’s Society. The home was filled with warmth, laughter and plenty of Christmas cheer from the moment the festivities began.

The morning started with a cosy coffee gathering, where residents enjoyed warm drinks paired with delicious homemade treats. Our talented chef prepared slices of coffee cake and Bakewell tart, which were quickly declared favourites by all who joined in. The relaxed atmosphere gave residents the perfect opportunity to chat, reminisce and ease into a day of joyful activities.

Following the coffee morning, the celebrations continued with a heart warming Christmas carol sing-along. The lounges were filled with familiar melodies as residents and team members sang together, creating a lovely sense of unity and happiness throughout the home. The sound of laughter and music could be heard around every corner, adding to the magic of the day.

In the afternoon, excitement rose as we welcomed a very special guest… Buddy the dog, proudly dressed in his festive Christmas jumper. Buddy made his way around the home, visiting residents in their rooms and spending time in the lounges. His gentle nature and wagging tail brought comfort, companionship and plenty of smiles. Residents loved stroking him, chatting to him and enjoying the joy that only a four-legged friend can bring.

The combination of festive treats, music, companionship and Buddy’s heart-melting visit made Elf Day a memorable and meaningful celebration at Dorset House. It was a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness for a cause close to many of our hearts while sharing precious moments of food, fun and friendship.
