Festive Memories and Good Times at Elizabeth House

As we looked back through the photographs from the festive season at Elizabeth House, it was clear just how many joyful moments were shared together. Christmas was filled with laughter, creativity, music and companionship, creating memories that residents, families and team members will treasure.

Looking back on special moments

While reminiscing, Yvonne summed it up perfectly, saying, “We had some lovely Twelve Days of Christmas.” From day trips to Southampton to see the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra concert, to enjoying festive outings closer to home, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

Peter C spoke warmly about the fun he had during the visit to the Vitality Stadium, where residents joined others from Care South for a memorable festive experience. These outings offered not only entertainment, but also the chance to share new experiences and enjoy time together beyond the home.

Creativity, baking and festive preparation

Back at Elizabeth House, the Christmas spirit continued with hands-on activities that brought residents together. From visits to local places such as Stuarts and St Adhem’s, to creating handmade wreaths and Christmas cards, the home was full of creativity and festive cheer.

Peter T fondly recalled how much he enjoyed building and decorating a gingerbread house with his friends, while Maria took great pride in helping to decorate the dining room and set the tables ready for Christmas Day. These moments of involvement helped everyone feel part of the celebrations and added to the sense of togetherness.

Dot added a delicious touch to the season by preparing chocolate chip cookies for afternoon tea, which were enjoyed by everyone and quickly became a festive favourite.

Laughter, games and coming together

One of the highlights for many was an afternoon organised by a cheeky Santa and his naughty elf, who hosted some wonderfully funny games for staff members. Residents, families and team members all came together in the dining room, sharing laughter, enjoying each other’s company and even experiencing a little festive snow.

As Jean perfectly concluded, it was a time of “good food, good friends and good fun,” capturing the true spirit of Christmas at Elizabeth House.

Looking ahead to the New Year

As the decorations begin to come down, the excitement continues. Silva shared that she is already looking forward to the New Year’s Eve party, with more celebrations and shared moments still to come.
