At Buxton House, we’re always finding new ways to bring fun, movement and connection into our residents’ daily lives – and our recent game of table skittles was a perfect example of that.

Several of our gentlemen residents gathered for a friendly competition, full of laughter and encouragement. The game was on as they each took turns trying to knock down as many skittles as possible. In the end, it was Tom who claimed victory with the highest score – though Terry was a very close second, keeping the match exciting right to the end!

More Than Just a Game

Table skittles may look simple, but it brings a number of benefits for our residents. It offers a form of gentle physical activity, helping to maintain coordination and movement, while also encouraging social interaction and friendly competition. For many, it’s also a wonderful opportunity to reminisce and share stories about similar games from their younger years.

The room was filled with smiles, cheerful banter and plenty of light-hearted moments as the group supported each other and enjoyed the spirit of the game.
