Fern Brook Lodge recently stepped back in time to the swinging sixties with a lively 60s Festival that had everyone smiling, singing, and dancing. The home was filled with excitement as residents, staff, and visitors embraced the era in true retro style.

The Rhythm of the 2 Hats Band

The afternoon came alive with the cheerful rhythm of the 2 Hats Band, whose music quickly had toes tapping and hands clapping. Their upbeat performance created an atmosphere of pure joy, transporting everyone back to the days of iconic hits and classic dance moves.

Dressing the Part

Staff joined in the fun by donning their grooviest 60s-inspired outfits, from bright colours to retro patterns, helping to set the scene and bring an extra sparkle to the event. The effort brought plenty of laughter and added to the sense of celebration, making it a real community occasion.

Dancing the Afternoon Away

The highlight of the day was seeing residents up on their feet, dancing and enjoying the music. Dorothy, one of our residents, said she had “a fantastic time” and proudly joined in on the dancing too. It was a wonderful reminder of how powerful music can be in lifting spirits and sparking happy memories.
