Residents at St Ives House Care Home spent a thoughtful and creative afternoon in the Bistro, making their very own handmade poppy badges in preparation for the upcoming Remembrance Day commemorations.

As the day of remembrance draws near, residents came together to reflect, create and share stories of loved ones while enjoying a peaceful arts and crafts session. The table was full of colour, conversation and care as each resident crafted a poppy to wear proudly over the coming days.

These beautiful handmade poppies will be worn with pride as residents attend the local Remembrance Service in Ringwood on Sunday, joining the wider community in a moment of respect and reflection. St Ives House will also be hosting its annual Remembrance and Reflection morning on Tuesday, giving everyone the opportunity to come together to honour those who served and those who have been lost.

The afternoon was filled with creativity, companionship and heartfelt remembrance, reminding us all of the importance of community and shared reflection.

A big thank you to our residents and team at St Ives House for creating such a meaningful and memorable afternoon.
