Hawaiian Vibes and Community Spirit Shine at Fairlawn Summer Fayre
Saturday 19 July 2025 saw a wave of sunshine, colour and community spirit as Fairlawn Care Home hosted its much-anticipated Hawaiian-themed Summer Fayre – and what an afternoon it was!
Residents, families, staff, stallholders and members of the public came together to celebrate in style, with leis, music, delicious food and fun-filled activities for all ages.
A Feast of Fun
The garden was alive with various craft stalls, face painting, hair braiding, and even a stall from a local cat charity. Our talented residents proudly showcased and sold their own handmade crafts, lovingly created during their weekly activity sessions.
Children enjoyed a host of games and entertainment – with hook-a-Hawaiian-sea-creature drawing a big crowd and awarding lots of exciting prizes.
One resident shared, “It is so nice to see all the children having so much fun.”
The kitchen team served up a sizzling BBQ, while the mobile cocktail bar (hosted by our Manager’s husband, dressed perfectly for the theme!) added a tropical touch to the afternoon.
Music, Mayoral Visits and Memories Made
A highlight of the day was a special visit from the Mayor of Ferndown, showing support for the local community and the spirit of care that defines Fairlawn.
The afternoon ended on a high note with an uplifting performance from singer Rebecca, whose wonderful set had residents and visitors dancing, toe-tapping and smiling all around.
A Heartfelt Thank You
Thanks to the kindness and generosity of all who attended, our Summer Fayre raised an amazing £437 – a fantastic outcome that reflects the strength of our local community.
A huge thank you to everyone who came along, donated, volunteered, or performed – you made the day one to remember.
