We are safely able to support new residents. For more information, please speak with the Home Manager or fill out an enquiry form.
Castle Dene is conveniently based on the edge of Bournemouth and a short distance from the New Forest.
Visitors often leave thinking of the care home as a happy place to be, with a social atmosphere. It has large lounges and a conservatory, helping residents to relax or socialise as much as they wish. It also has a large, landscaped garden, often tended to by green-fingered residents.
Castle Dene is a purpose-built care home with 50 single bedrooms. Facilities include an on-site hair salon.
We know looking for a care home can be a difficult process, but you are not alone. Please fill out an enquiry form or give us a call and we would be happy to guide you through the process, answer any questions and talk you through life at Castle Dene.
We have adapted our admissions process to meet the challenges of COVID-19 and help new and existing residents stay safe. You can find out more about these changes in our Assisi Admissions Plan by clicking here.
Our activities team organises daily events and outings designed to bring everyone together in a fun and friendly atmosphere, which have included The Great Castle Dene Bake Off, visits from the local rugby team and AFC Bournemouth, and taking a trip down memory lane with tailored activities.
We put our residents at the heart of everything we do, and know that no two are the same. That is why we get to know residents and their life stories, hobbies and interests, helping us to create events around their likes.
The Daily Sparkle
We are also supported by The Daily Sparkle, a newspaper and app featuring news stories from the past and familiar activities. Using these resources has opened up conversations for our less sociable residents. Click here to find out more.
Look below for some of the things we have been up to recently.
“I love to put a smile on the residents’ faces and feeling like I contributed towards their happiness.” – Ian Berry, Castle Dene chef
Meals are more than just the food on the plate, they bring people together. At Castle Dene, residents meet for meal times in our relaxed and comfortable dining rooms, with wholesome, well-balanced meals.
We talk to residents to help create flexible menus around their likes and needs, also working within any special dietary requirements. Snacks and afternoon teas are also available to residents.
Janice Turner – Home Manager
No two days are the same at Castle Dene, which makes being here so interesting. Talking to our residents, finding out about their stories and what makes them smile, to see the joy that can be brought about each day by one small gesture of kindness, is so rewarding and fulfilling.
I’ve worked in the care profession for more than 40 years – although I’m not really sure where all the years have gone! I believe in creating a homely, happy atmosphere for residents, their families and the staff team.
Although we can’t welcome you for a look around our care homes just yet, you can still view inside thanks to our remote tours.
To ensure our care homes remain free from COVID-19, our helpful Home Managers can guide you around during a video call, so you get a feel of what life is like with Care South.
Simply fill out the form below and we will be in touch to discuss how we can create a new home for you or a loved one with peace of mind.
