We put our residents at the heart of everything we do, and know that no two are the same. That is why we get to know residents and their life stories, hobbies and interests, helping us to create events around their likes.
Our activities team organises daily event and outings designed to bring everyone together in a fun and friendly atmosphere, and have recently included a staycation trip to Cornwall and Torquay to relive happy childhood memories, visits from AFC Bournemouth and out-of-this world VR experience on the Moon.
The Daily Sparkle
We are also supported by The Daily Sparkle, a newspaper and app featuring news stories from the past and familiar activities. Using these resources has opened up conversations for our less sociable residents. Click here to find out more.

“I enjoy my job because I feel that I am giving something back to the community and people that did there bit for me.” – Tim Clarke, Dorset House chef
Meals are more than just the food on the plate, they bring people together. At Dorset House, residents meet for meal times in our relaxed and comfortable dining rooms, with wholesome, well-balanced meals.
We talk to residents to help create flexible menus around their likes and needs, also working within any special dietary requirements. Snacks and afternoon teas are also available to residents.
Debbie Preston – Home Manager
I started my career in social care 25 years ago when I worked for Social Services at Dorset County Council. I love getting to know the residents at Dorset House; spending time to sit with them and discover their stories.
When I’m not at work, I can either be found taking an early morning dip in the sea, running along the Jurassic Coast, or cycling around the villages of Dorset.
Although we can’t welcome you for a look around our care homes just yet, you can still view inside thanks to our remote tours.
To ensure our care homes remain free from COVID-19, our helpful Home Managers can guide you around during a video call, so you get a feel of what life is like with Care South.
Simply fill out the form below and we will be in touch to discuss how we can create a new home for you or a loved one with peace of mind.
