Care provided at Elizabeth House:

Elizabeth House also has a number of spacious communal areas that are perfect for relaxing with a cup of tea and a slice of cake, or socialising with friends and loved ones, including our large and charmingly furnished lounge and south-facing conservatory. Furthermore, our sunny patio and beautiful garden, which boasts swathes of greenery and vibrant flowers, provide a lovely spot for residents to enjoy in peace and tranquillity. Residents also have full use of our on-site hair salon.

Elizabeth House has 43 welcoming and comfortable, fully furnished rooms, each containing a 24-hour nurse call bell, ensuring residents are comfortable, safe and expertly cared for. We give all our residents support and peace of mind, whether they need just a little assistance, or full-time care and we pride ourselves on doing everything possible to enhance our residents’ quality of life.

Elizabeth House overlooks the picturesque Canford Heath Nature Reserve and has easy access to both Bournemouth and Poole town centres. Therefore, we are perfectly located to benefit their nearby shops and services, enabling residents to continue to do what they love, whether that’s popping out for a coffee with friends, assisted by a member of our excellent care team, or enjoying activities with visiting loved ones. In addition, with great access to excellent transport links, as well as a plethora of local attractions, such as our beautiful sandy beaches and waterfronts, there’s plenty to keep you and visiting loved ones busy. Nothing is ever too much trouble for us when it comes to the care and comfort of our residents and we always go the extra mile to help residents safely maintain their lifestyle and independence.

We understand that looking for a care home can be a difficult and daunting process, but we want you to know that you are not alone. Please feel free to give us a call or fill out an enquiry form and we will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have, provide you with support throughout the process, or simply give you a better idea of life at Elizabeth House.

Elizabeth House is dedicated to ensuring our residents are able to get the most out of every day, whilst feeling safe and supported. For us, it’s all about delivering the three F’s – Food, Fun and Friendship – to enable our residents to live a happy and fulfilling lifestyle.

Recreational activities are organised by our activities coordinator(s) to ensure our residents are having fun and making friends, and range from baking and arts and crafts to visits from entertainers and day trips out to local points of interest and attractions. For example, residents have enjoyed visits from, and games with, A.F.C. Bournemouth’s Community Sports Trust, as well as trips down memory lane with some tailored reminiscence therapy activities.

No two residents are the same, and we love to learn about their amazing life stories, hobbies and interests. This helps us to build strong relationships with our residents and allows us to tailor our activities to suit their likes and favourite pastimes. Residents can be as involved as they wish and the activities team work hard to cater for our residents’ recreational desires, enabling them to continue to do the things they love, even if that simply involves sitting down and enjoying a card game or a puzzle.

Please see below for more of the activities that we have been enjoying at Elizabeth House recently.

Elizabeth House dining

“As Chefs, we can really impact on our residents’ quality of life in a positive way – there is nothing better than hearing a resident enjoyed their meal or watching their face light up when a birthday cake comes out. Creating and nurturing these moments, and making the residents feel special, is a huge part of what makes this job rewarding.” – Stuart Pike, Elizabeth House Chef

Given our mission to provide our residents with the three F’s – Food, Fun and Friendship – mealtimes are very important to us and our residents love coming together to enjoy delicious, nutritious and wholesome meals with their friends.

Our menu is expertly crafted by our talented Chefs, working closely with our Caterings Operations Manager, and is cooked and prepared onsite by our skilled kitchen staff.  We are passionate about providing high-quality food for our residents, therefore, we cater for all of their dietary requirements and meal preferences and always seek to maintain the same high standards when preparing alternative meals.  Refreshments are also available for residents throughout the day.

We currently hold a food hygiene rating of 5/5 stars (date of inspection: 29/07/2019) and strive to provide delicious and nutritious, high-quality meals for all of our residents.
